Tare production and the APT

The APT plays a crucial role in the promotion and marketing of tara, not only locally, but also nationally and internationally. Thanks to sustainable management and commitment to quality, the cooperative has contributed to the positioning of tara as a product of high value and demand in international markets.
In addition to its economic importance, tara also plays a significant ecological role in the region. Its sustainable cultivation and management help protect and regenerate local ecosystems, promoting the conservation of biodiversity and environmental protection.
Over the years, the APT has worked closely with local farmers to improve growing practices, increase productivity and ensure fair conditions for producers. This focus on sustainable development has contributed to the growth and prosperity of the agricultural community in San Marcos, Cajamarca, positioning the tara as a symbol of identity and progress in the region.
